City of Ithaca
Annual Training Requirements
Objectives and Instruction

Our City is striving to create an organization whereby employees are well informed and understand the underlying philosophy that drives Ithaca's operations.

As a government entity and employer, the City is mandated to provide annual training on required topics. This training is important so that we can ensure the quality of how we serve the community.

There are six topics that will be covered in these short "refresher" training courses. They are designed to provide a convenient and user friendly way for our employees to understand the main points of each topic.

The topics are:

- City's Mission, Vision and Value

- Workforce Diversity Statement and Plan

- Sexual Harassment Prevention

- Hazardous Communication (Right to Know)

- Emergency Evacuation and Fire Safety

- Safe Lifting

Simply click on the "refresher course" titles and briefly study the lessons. When you have finished reviewing all six courses, click on the "Quick Test" link and follow instructions for a short evaluation to make sure you understood the material. When you have finished the test, it will be automatically mailed to human resources and we can then know when courses have been successfully completed and whether additional training may be needed.

Thank you for taking a moment to "refresh" your knowledge of these important topics and for striving to make Ithaca a model community.
